A dream from 2003, a trust since 2017.
Hongirana began as a dream in 2003, when we were MBBS students at JSS Medical College, Mysore. Even as students, we believed that helping those in need is not charity alone — it is our responsibility as human beings. We often spoke about creating something that could support deserving students, struggling families, and people facing difficult times.
Though life took us into our professions, the dream remained alive in our hearts. In 2016, we decided to turn that dream into reality. We learned everything ourselves, understood the responsibilities of charitable work, and started this journey with hope and compassion. Hongirana Charitable Trust was officially registered on 25 February 2017 in Mandya.
Today, Hongirana is more than a trust — it is a promise to stand beside those who need support and to keep humanity alive through every helping hand.

The Hongirana Charitable Trust is a non-profit based in Mandya and Mysore working in two broad fields — children's healthcare and education. Our goal is to build a better, healthier future for the children in our community. We believe in a bottom-up approach, working at the grass-root level on sustainable solutions.
Once we sponsor a child, we stay till the end.
When the trust takes up a child's education, we take complete responsibility until their studies are finished. We also mentor and motivate them to grow into good human beings in society. Nation-building, we believe, always starts with the child.

We are 15 members from diverse backgrounds — doctors and administrative service officials — committed to making a real impact rather than only talking about it. Our platform brings together people who want to help and people who need support.

Change, we believe, should start from within. Each of the 15 trustees seeded the trust with ₹5,000 and continues to contribute ₹20,000 every year. We share our work openly on social media, and a growing community of donors and volunteers stands beside us.
