Our work

Years of work, named lives.

Since 2017, every rupee has gone to real students, real families, real hospitals. Here is a chronicle of what your trust and our donors have made possible.

Hongirana trustees handing over a hearing aid to the mother of a young child at the Mysore District Early Intervention Centre
A first sponsorship

A hearing aid for a 3-year-old.

One of Hongirana's earliest acts — a ₹28,500 hearing aid handed over at the Mysore District Early Intervention Centre, so that a young child could begin to hear the world around her. Small moments like this, recorded across clinics and schools, are what the Trust was built to make possible.

Health camps

Bringing doctors to the doorstep.

In partnership with IAP Mandya, Aster Hospital and the Government of Karnataka's RBSK programme, Hongirana runs free screening and treatment camps — for specially-abled children, thalassemia and HLA typing, hearing assessments and general paediatric care across Mandya and Mysuru districts.

When the lockdown came, we showed up.

Through the first and second waves of the pandemic, Hongirana distributed 700+ family ration kits (40 days of food for a family of four) and delivered ~₹5,00,000 of ICU equipment, PPE and newborn-care supplies to government hospitals across Mandya district — MIMS Mandya, Maddur and KR Pet.

Books & bags drive

Books and bags for government school children.

Every academic year, Hongirana partners with rural government schools across Mandya and Mysuru to hand over school bags, notebooks, textbooks and stationery — so that no child misses class for want of a pencil or a bag to carry it in.

School renovation

Rebuilding government schools, one classroom at a time.

In partnership with IAP Mandya, Hongirana renovates Kannada-medium government schools — repairing roofs, repainting walls with Nali-Kali learning murals, and supplying chairs, tables, blackboards, book racks and textbooks so children learn in a space that feels truly theirs.
