My journey began in a small native village where resources were scarce, but dreams were abundant. From 1st to 10th standard, I studied in my village school. Those early years taught me resilience, simplicity and the value of perseverance.
I completed my PUC at Mandavya Excellence PU College, Mandya. Coming from a rural and financially constrained background, the dream of becoming a doctor often felt like a distant mountain — visible, but difficult to reach. With determination and faith, I was blessed to crack NEET UG in my very first attempt.
During MBBS, Hongirana Charitable Trust became a true turning point in my life. The Trust took care of my hostel fees, books and other essential needs, lifting a tremendous burden from my family's shoulders. More than financial support, the Trust gave me hope, confidence and emotional strength.
I make a special mention of Dr. Vinay sir (Pediatrician, MIMS Mandya). He treated me not merely as a student, but like his own younger brother. His mentorship has played a profound role in shaping both my career and my character.
Today, I have joined MD General Medicine at MIMS Mandya — once again in my first attempt. I promise to honour this support by becoming a compassionate, dedicated and ethical physician, and by giving back to society just as I was supported when I needed it the most.
And the circle continues. Once a scholar of Hongirana, I am now a donor to the Trust — sponsoring another child's education so that the same lamp that was lit for me can light another young life. From receiving light to becoming light — that, to me, is the truest gift Hongirana has given.
